Plentifall Floral Installation, Floral Fantasy, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore
In the fall of 2019, Beverly’s Blooms was absolutely honoured and privileged to be invited by Gardens by the Bay to create an whimsical autumn installation for the Artist’s Corner, for emerging floral artists in Asia, at their newly opened Floral Fantasy Dome.
We wanted to create an immersive Autumn wonderland that allowed people to feel the warmth, kinship and beauty of the transitional season in all of its colourful delights.
One thing that we were excited and intentional about was wanting to create a sustainable art piece that was both kind to the environment while showing off the beauty of nature and affirming why were must preserve it. We did this by using a lot of foraged leaves and floral elements from Gardens by Bay as well as reusing an enormous bronze basin which had previously been used elsewhere in the gardens.
Our installation entitled “Plentifall” was a play on Plenty and Fall which are both synonymous with Autumn. We worked with a local Singaporean rattan producer Hak Sheng & Co to create a 1.2meter long cornucopia as the centrepiece, which hung over the bronze basin which overflowed with rich botanical material.
