Grand opening of Shiseido Forest Valley, Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore

One of the most anticipated events in Singapore in 2019 was the opening of Jewel Changi Airport and Shiseido Forest Valley is the main attraction. In conjunction with the grand opening by Shiseido in May 2019, Beverly’s Blooms was invited to create a floral wonderland for VIPs, media and key beauty influences in Asia.

The main showpiece we created was a walk through multi-sensory experiential floating cave that was over four meters high and five meters long. We used over 10,000 stems of fresh vines, layered with beautiful red roses, orchids and blue pea flowers.

While the pre-installation planning took weeks, in a matter of hours the Beverly’s Blooms team was able to build the installation for Shiseido from the ground up (or rather top down) for a highly successful event. The opening event of the Shiseido Forest Valley at Jewel Changi Airport generated a lot of buzz from both corporate clients and local celebrities in attendance.

Plentifall Floral Installation, Floral Fantasy, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

In the fall of 2019, Beverly’s Blooms was absolutely honoured and privileged to be invited by Gardens by the Bay to create an whimsical autumn installation for the Artist’s Corner, for emerging floral artists in Asia, at their newly opened Floral Fantasy Dome.

We wanted to create an immersive Autumn wonderland that allowed people to feel the warmth, kinship and beauty of the transitional season in all of its colourful delights.

One thing that we were excited and intentional about was wanting to create a sustainable art piece that was both kind to the environment while showing off the  beauty of nature and affirming why were must preserve it. We did this by using a lot of foraged leaves and floral elements from Gardens by Bay as well as reusing an enormous bronze basin which had previously been used elsewhere in the gardens.

Our installation entitled “Plentifall” was a play on Plenty and Fall which are both synonymous with Autumn. We worked with a  local Singaporean rattan producer Hak Sheng & Co to create a 1.2meter long cornucopia as the centrepiece, which hung over the bronze basin which overflowed with rich botanical material.

The Whirlflower, Floral Fantasy, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

Beverly’s Blooms had to honour to collaborate with Kristine Hakim (visual artist, milliner and overall art maven), to create this floral installation for the soft launch of Floral Fantasy; Gardens by the Bay Singapore.

The vision for the ‘Whirl Flower’ was born from Kristine’s artistic vision to showcase the poetic nature of water and how it shapes the ocean, and is the beginning of life itself. We were delighted to help flesh out her vision using vibrant, multi-dimensional, textured and utopian-inspired florals in the enter spectrum of colours to mirror the beauty of the underwater world.

Wearable Florals for Performance Artists, Artscience Museum, Singapore

ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands has long been an iconic venue in Singapore, and in early 2020 Beverly’s Blooms was asked by a group of eight local artists led by the amazing Priyageetha Dia. Beverly’s Blooms was tasked to provide wearable floral adornments for a ninety minute live performance entitled The Sun Rises in Molten Gold, which explored the spiritual journey of reincarnated brown bodies; an exchange of of relationships, connecting memories and upholding traditions 200 years from now.

We loved the idea to create eight unique wearable floral pieces, featuring only Jasmine flowers, to fit the personality of each artist and the challenge to create something whimsical and alluring.

Moreover, each individual piece we created had to be durable and secure as they were worn throughout the live performance with plenty of movements by the artists.

As floral designers in Singapore, we were grateful for the trust and appreciation of the artists to create their bespoke floral adornments and overwhelmed by the success of the show. Such an amazing performance and the sky’s the limit for these artists.
